In-Flight Entertainment 3D Moving Map / Flight Tracker
The moving map provides a detailed 3D flight tracking experience to passengers with global high resolution imagery and terrain, map features and points of interest, and customizable views for personalization.

  • Led a team of 10 to build an industry leading moving map product; deployed on 300+ business jets
  • Designed innovative capabilities that advanced the state of the art in a stagnant industry
  • Shipped multiple releases on time and within budget
  • Established a support and maintenance team for the customer
  • Reduced long term licensing and maintenance costs 20% by utilizing more open source software

Project Bluejay
Bluejay is a family of next generation in-flight entertainment moving map products that combines a server side component with multiple clients (2D or 3D and Seat Back or Wireless).

  • Proposed the product to executive management to secure IR&D funding and led a distributed team of 6 to build a minimally viable product; formulated and maintained the technical and business vision
  • Established better development practices that improved code quality and productivity including coding standards, code reviews, consistent effort estimating and pair programming
  • Worked closely with business development on licensing and pricing strategies
  • Collaborated with marketing to evangelize and promote the product at industry trade shows
  • Used feedback from potential partners and customers to enhance product features for the market
  • Contributed to development efforts across entire product using Java, HTML/CSS/JS and Objective-C

Protection Assessment Tool (PAT)
PAT is a real time risk assessment tool that utilizes composite risk and provides dashboards and reports for use within the Army Battle Command System (ABCS).

  • Led a group of three teams that worked with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) to develop PAT
  • Used a service oriented architecture to develop one back end and two front end clients to engage the user community and obtain direct feedback on the UI/UX to improve the product
  • Introduced Scrum to the team and led daily meetings; Evangelized Scrum throughout the organization and it is currently used for nearly all software projects
  • Contributed to development efforts utilizing ASP.NET MVC, C#, jQuery, SQL Server and REST

ProLogic, Inc.
Lead Engineer/Analyst (2004 – 2008)

  • Provided innovative technical solutions in both execution of projects and proposals
  • Worked with the NASA HQ CFO to design and implement a web based program submission, evaluation and selection system to manage $50-$70 million annually for the Office of Safety & Mission Assurance (OSMA)
  • Simplified and consolidated processes across 13 NASA centers and facilities for OSMA
  • Worked with the NASA IV&V Facility R&D Lead to design and implement an end-to-end project management system to manage all projects funded by the Software Assurance Research Program (SARP) which preserved the results of $50 million of software research that were mostly lost before
  • Created a web portal to disseminate the results of research conducted by the SARP to the global software research community earning the NASA OSMA Award for Technology Transfer
  • Led small teams of developers on various projects using Java, C, TCL, PHP, HTML/CSS/JS, Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL
